Natural edge Spalted Pecan is used for
the bottom shelf
.  A small turquoise
inlay is included.

Fused glass is used to make the shelves
inside the box
.  My artist friend, Robin
Morin from Elgin made them.

My wall box is made from Spalted Pecan and
Mesquite
.  It's shown with an antique beveled
mirror in the door.  Dove tail joints are used in
the corners
The box is now on display at the Kingfisher
Fine Art and Music Gallery in Elgin, TX until
Aug. 18, '07.

Stained glass is used to accent the top of the box.  Another
artist friend, Cheridah Vaughn in Elgin designed and made
the glass.  It is lighted from behind by a light bulb.

Native Texas Pecan wood was used to construct this beautiful blanket box.  Some of
the wood is spalted like the crosses we make.  The box measures 36" wide x 22" high x
13" deep.  Frame and panel construction is used including mortice and tenon joints at
all the corners.  Prices start at $500.00
The blanket box has a Cedar bottom.
The Cedar is known to repel bugs.
Two lid supports can be seen and
the piano hinge.
I inlayed turquoise into a knot hole in
the top.
The top shows the color and design
of the Spalted Pecan.  It opens and
closed slowly so fingers won't get
hurt.
A tray that is made of Cedar slides
on Pecan runners.

Spalted Pecan
